Traffic Stops

You as a Police Student may attempt to pull over and stop any vehicle. See UK Laws section for the exact powers/regulations you will be enforcing and using.

• Identify yourself with your last name and callsign "Officer Smith, OC-7"
• Ask the driver do they know why they have been stopped.
• Ask for their identification or drivers license

If they do not have any ID - You can check the plates on the vehicle - If no plates or ID you cannot positively ID them. Consider checking VIN number if appropriate.

• You can decide to verbally warn them or issue them a citation/ticket for the laws broken using the /mdt system.
